Position Overview:

Looking for a PDI Technician job near Renville, MN? Renville Sales Inc. is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented PDI Technician to join our growing team. As a key member of    our sales and service department, the PDI Technician plays an essential role in preparing new trailers for retail delivery. This includes inspecting, assembling, servicing, and    performing minor repairs on a wide range of trailer models. This PDI Technician job in Renville, MN is ideal for someone who has strong mechanical aptitude, experience with 12V wiring, and is comfortable working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist with unloading and receiving incoming trailer inventory
• Perform thorough Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) on new trailers
• Assemble and service new trailers according to manufacturer specifications
• Complete minor repairs and adjustments on trailers (e.g., wiring, lighting, hardware, latches, brakes, bearings, etc.)
• Operate light equipment such as a compact tractor, skid steer, & forklift
• Accurately record all work performed, including parts used, in service records or warranty claims
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and trailer yard
• Communicate any major issues or discrepancies to the Service Manager
• Assist in trailer repositioning or lot setup as needed
• Support team members during peak times or special projects

Skills & Qualifications:

• Basic mechanical repair skills, especially with tools and power equipment
• Working knowledge of 12V trailer wiring and basic electrical troubleshooting
• Ability to operate forklifts or other light equipment (training provided if needed)
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Ability to follow written instructions, checklists, and manufacturer guidelines
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Basic computer or tablet use for job tracking or service entry
• Valid driver’s license (with trailer towing experience preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in trailer, RV, automotive, or equipment service
• Knowledge of trailer types (utility, enclosed, dump, etc.) and their components
• Welding or fabrication experience a plus but not required
• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.  We take pride in offering a safe and comfortable working environment that includes a heated and air-conditioned shop as well as modern equipment that is easy and safe to operate.

• May require lifting up to 75 lbs.
